Particle est un collectif d'artistes originaires du Maghreb, né à Marseille d'un désir commun de créer un espace d'expression pour les voix créatives qui prennent racines à la lisière de géographies nord-africaines. Il se distingue par sa volonté d'ouverture à la transversalité. Particle vise à partager et valoriser les héritages, explorer les similitudes et singularités des territoires, et mettre en lumière la pluralité des nuances culturelles.
Ensemble, ces artistes enrichissent la scène artistique contemporaine en racontant les histoires qui se tissent entre la France et l'Afrique du Nord.

Particle is a collective of artists from the Maghreb, born in Marseille out of a shared desire to create a space of expression for the creative voices of North Africa which are rooted at the boarders of North African geographies. It stands out by its willingness to open to transversality. Particle's aim is to share and highlight heritage, explore the similarities and singularities of territories, and highlight the plurality of cultural nuances. Together, these artists expand the contemporary art scene by telling the stories woven between France and North Africa.

Né en 1979 au Maroc, Driss Aroussi vit et travaille à Marseille, en France. Le travail artistique de Driss est polysémique, empruntant plusieurs axes de recherche, naviguant entre expérimentation et forme documentaire. Il utilise dans sa pratique ce qui permet de reproduire la réalité comme la photographie, de la saisir comme la vidéo. Ces dernières années, il a photographié des chantiers de construction, passant du temps avec les ouvriers, partageant leur quotidien, considérant les hommes, les outils, les objets et les lieux. Le réel pour lui porte aussi la marque du travail, les stigmates de ses contradictions, les signes de la transformation qu'il opère sur notre réalité.

Born in Morocco in 1979, Driss Aroussi lives and works in Marseille, France. Driss's artistic work is polysemic, borrowing from several lines of research, navigating between experimentation and documentary form. In his practice, he uses whatever enables him to reproduce reality, such as photography, or to capture it, such as video. In recent years, he has photographed construction sites, spending time with workers, sharing their daily lives, considering men, tools, objects and places. For him, reality also bears the mark of work, the stigma of its contradictions, the signs of the transformation it wrought on our reality.
Artiste photographe basée entre Marseille et Sète, Safia Delta interroge les espaces hérités et construits et repose sur l’existant et l’espace domestique pour reconsidérer les modalités d’habitation du réel. Fondé sur une archive familiale transmise et construite, son travail soulève la question de la conciliation des identités multiples des êtres déracinés. En 2021, elle intégre le Tilawin Project, programme de mentorat à destination de femmes photographes algériennes et issues de la diaspora, qu’elle coordonne. Ses séries intimistes sur les espaces existentiels restreints et les enjeux transgénérationnels ont été exposés à la Chambre (Strasbourg) et au Centre Photographique Marseille en 2024.

Safia Delta is an artist-photographer based between Marseille and Sète, France. Her work questions inherited and constructed spaces, relying on the existing and the domestic to reconsider the ways in which reality is inhabited. Based on a family archive handed down and constructed, her work raises the question of how to reconcile the multiple identities of uprooted people. In 2021, she joined the Tilawin Project, a mentoring program for Algerian and diaspora women photographers, which she coordinates. Her intimate series on restricted existential spaces and transgenerational issues were exhibited at La Chambre; Strasbourg and Marseille Centre Photographic in 2024.
Maya Louhichi, artiste visuelle franco-tunisienne, explore la mémoire, l'identité et le corps par la photo et la vidéo. Formée hors des circuits académiques, elle a travaillé sur l'expression corporelle urbaine entre 2009 et 2014. En 2018, le décès de son père, le réalisateur Taieb Louhichi, marque un profond tournant dans son travail, désormais imprégné de son héritage cinématographique. Lauréate de la bourse Helping Hands pour son projet actuel « Mareth, un village parmi tant d’autres », son travail a été présenté aux Rencontres de Bamako et au Jaou Photo Festival (Tunis). En 2024, son livre “Et dans la terre, je me souviens” a été lancé à Marseille à la librairie Zoème.

French-Tunisian visual artist Maya Louhichi explores memory, identity and the body through photography and video. Trained outside academic circuits, she worked on urban body expression between 2009 and 2014. In 2018, the death of her father, filmmaker Taieb Louhichi, marked a profound turning point in her work, now imbued with his cinematic heritage. Winner of the Helping Hands grant for her current project "Mareth, un village parmi tant d'autres", her work has been presented at the Rencontres de Bamako and the Jaou Photo Festival (Tunis). In 2024, her book "Et dans la terre, je me souviens" was launched in Marseille at the Zoème bookshop.
